He began his musical studies with his father, José A. Díaz. He continued his training in Seville, Madrid and Amsterdam. He also completed advanced studies with Peter Sadlo, Gary Burton, F. Estein, Emmanuel Sejourne, L. H. Stevens, etc. As a soloist he has preformed with the OST, New Percussion of Amsterdam, Gaudeamus Festival, as well as in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Anapolis, Madrid, Valencia, Havana, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, etc. He is a founding member of KINNARA (dance and percussion) and TUÓPALI DÚO. He has been invited to teach by the University of Michigan, and was a professor at the Centro de Estudios Neopercusion in Madrid. He is currently a solo drummer for the OST, a professor at the CSMC and director of the Festival Internacional de Música Contemporánea de Tenerife.
