Melody Louledjian

A French of Armenian origin, Melody Louledjian began her musical career with the piano at the Nice Conservatory where she graduated. Strongly attracted by lyrical singing and the stage, she entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon, where she studied with Françoise Pollet, and then improved her skills with Edith Mathis at the Hochschule in Vienna.

She has played more than thirty roles in her repertoire. Among the key roles are Violetta /La Traviata, Lucia /Lucia di Lammermoor, Musetta /Bohème and Norina /Don Pasquale. At present time, she tackles a rather lyrical repertoire and has made her debut at the Theatre Dortmund with the great role of Amazily in Spontini's Fernand Cortez.

She performs on the main international stages: The Paris Opera, the Bayerisches Staatsoper in Munich, the Grand-Théâtre de Genève (where she was a soloist with the Ensemble from 2017 to 2019), the Reggio Emilia Theatre, the Bordeaux Opera, the Opéra Comique de Paris, the Opéra de Lausanne, Manila, Nice, Lille, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Theatre Dortmund...

She has sung under the musical direction of conductors such as Mikko Frank, Michael Güttler, Roberto Benzi, Paul Daniel, Paolo Olmi, Raphael Pichon, Hervé Niquet, Marko Letonja, Paolo Arrivabeni, Gergely Madaras, Alexander Joël and works with great conductors such as Laurent Pelly, Richard Jones and Antony Mc Donald, Emma Dante, Thomas Joly, David Alden, Michel Fau, Joan Font, etc.

Considered one of the best French lyric sopranos of her generation, Melody Louledjian approaches classical and contemporary repertoires with equal joy. She is a regular guest of the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Ensemble Modern, Contrechamps, the Klangforum, the Konzert Haus Berlin, the Tonhalle Zürich, Düsseldorf, the Philharmonie de Paris, Cologne, etc., as well as several international festivals.

She regularly performs in recitals and concerts, in particular at the Chorégies d'Orange, the Auditorium de Lyon, the Maison de la Radio and La Cité de la Musique in Paris, Radio Suisse Romande, New Year Festival Gstaad, etc.

Her discography includes recordings of Ariettes à l'Ancienne, French Songs, Rossini in duo with Giulio Zappa for Klarthe Records, Fleurs in duo with the pianist Antoine Palloc, Label Aparté, Elise/Les Dilettantes d'Halevy, Klarthe Records, Laurette/Richard Coeur de Lion by Grety, for the record labels Ópera Real de Versalles, Oenone /Phèdre de Lemoyne, Bru Zane, Chants de l'Aube et du Soir for Klarthe Records.
