DANCE COMPANY

Ribeiro is a transoceanic artist, conceptual bitch and afro-futurist lover.

His work moves between choreography, performing arts and cosmic boogie. It explores what he defines as the four-p concept: the relationship between the political, the poetic, the personal and the pathetic.

He is particularly interested in an expanded horizon in practices and projects that trigger decolonial thinking. He works as a creator and performer in Tenerife, Madrid, and Barcelona, maintaining a close relationship with the cultural scenes of these three locations.

He co-founded the collective Lamajara (Barcelona) and was co-director between 2013 and 2020.

His works as an independent creator include Samba (2018) and Cap.IIIBlack through red (2020). In 2023, his performance piece Cap.II: I'm not an Influencer. He premiered at the Ídem Festival of the Casa Encendida cultural centre in Madrid as the second part of the trilogy he intends to conclude in 2025 with Cap. I: Arder épica.

His works have been seen internationally in Mexico, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Italy, Georgia, Poland, Germany, Holland, and Belgium.

In 2019, he received grants for creation within the performing arts from the OSIC (Catalonian Department of Support of Cultural Initiatives) for the project Madres, dolor y política en situación de violencia institucional and Osic 2021 for the project Black through Red. In 2019, he was selected by Iberescena for the project Fuego Cruzado.
