He has given recitals at many of the contemporary music festivals in Europe (Brussels, Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Darmstadt, Vienna, Strasbourg and Paris), as well as at Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. In addition, Rolf has worked with a number of prestigious conductors (Slatkin, Ashkenazy, Rattle, Andrew Davis and Knussen) and has appeared seven times on the BBC Proms. He has also played with orchestras from around the world and with many of the London orchestras. His compositions include a concert for piano, Maya-Sesha, and a concert for accordion, which was premiered at the Barbican in London. He collaborated with the choreographer Rui Horta in Danza Preparata, with whom he presented the Sonatas and Interludes by John Cage. His first opera, Lost in Thought, was premiered at the Barbican.
