She began her career on the world's stages over thirty years ago. Her beginnings in Cadiz, her homeland, are part of her story and the first link in the chain that is represented by the teaching that she received from the teacher who had the greatest influence on her professional career, her mother, Concha Baras.
She also received training from great dance maestros, notably including Ciro, Manolete, El Güito and Dania González.
In 1998 she launched her own company: Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras. To date, she has presented thirteen shows, all choreographed by her.
More than 4,000 performances with her company have taken her to the world's best theatres, thus making her one of the most renowned ambassadors of our culture.
The world's most important theatres have surrendered to her, and she has obtained the best reviews from both the press and the public. It is important to highlight the success and acceptance of her shows among the public which has enabled her to continue performing for long periods in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, London and Paris. At the Théâtre des Champs-Elysée's in Paris – which is 102 years old – she has presented 10 shows in a season, each lasting for a month, and with the "tickets sold out" sign put up for all of the performances held. She is the artist with the most all-time performances at this iconic Parisian theatre, having had over 200 performances and amassed over 500 thousand spectators (from 20 December 2016 to 11 January 2017, she will return for what will be her eleventh season). At the Sadler's Wells Theatre in London, she presented 8 shows in a season, each lasting for approximately one month, alternating with performances at the Royal Albert Hall. In Barcelona, she has presented 10 shows in seasons lasting for approximately 2 and a half months for a total of 70 performances each season, and her company was also the first private dance company to be included in the programme of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, opening the 2007-2008 season with her show "Carmen”. She has presented seasons in Madrid 10 times in the capital's most important theatres: Teatro Apolo, Teatro Coliseum, Teatro Calderón, Teatro Lope de Vega and Teatro Compact Gran Vía. Over these 10 seasons, she has had over 1,000 performances with an average occupancy of one million spectators. Outside her seasons in Madrid, she has participated in festivals such as "Veranos de la Villa", "Suma Madrid" and "Creadoras" and she has performed on several occasions at the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Teatro de La Zarzuela.
