Meritxell Barberá & Inma García, both having done degrees in Classical and Contemporary Dance in Valencia, founded their own company called Taiat Dansa in 2003. Since then, they have presented their creations in different renowned spaces and at various festivals throughout the nation. They have showcased their talent in the international arena and are currently working in countries like France, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Switzerland, the UK, the Netherlands and the USA.
Since the beginning of their careers, they have been working with much attention to the most immediate present, doing so in continuous sync with the ideological, social, and cultural contexts that influence art in general. Their interest in reflecting on dance and art has led them to always work in museum spaces. They have collaborated since 2009 as choreographers for other companies on the national and international scene. In this way, they transfer the unique choreographic and creative footprint of Taiat to other companies of renowned prestige such as the Ballet Hispánico of New York, DanceWorks of Chicago, the Ballet of the Valencian Community, DAF Rome, etc. They create pieces for these companies in which the choreographic elements remain closely related to intense dramaturgical work that feeds off of cinema, literature, and art.
