The music communicator will meet audiences on Tuesday (27 October) to explore Richard Wagner's opera Lohengrin.
The Auditorio de Tenerife will welcome music communicator Ramón Gener to its Chamber Music Hall next Tuesday (27 October) at 7.30 pm for an engaging introduction to Richard Wagner’s opera Lohengrin. Drawing on his extensive musical knowledge and using both his voice and the piano, Gener will explore the work from different perspectives, revealing its defining features and lesser-known details to audiences in Tenerife.
Gener will guide audiences through the opera’s emotional landscape, musical language, themes, leitmotifs and characters in an accessible and entertaining way. The event offers an opportunity both for opera enthusiasts wishing to deepen their understanding of the work and for newcomers discovering the art form for the first time. Lohengrin, a Romantic opera in three acts centred on the mysterious Knight of the Swan, will be performed at the Auditorio de Tenerife on 15, 18 and 21 November as the second subscription production of the Ópera de Tenerife 2026–2027 season.
This Wagner opera forms part of the Romantic trilogy alongside Der fliegende Holländer and Tannhäuser. The work represents the culmination and final flowering of the nineteenth-century German Romantic operatic tradition, while paving the way for a new style: Wagnerian music drama, with its extraordinary innovations in both theory and practice.
Tickets for Gener’s presentation cost €8, or €5 for under-30s. Members of Club Ópera 2026–2027 receive a 50% discount on the standard ticket price, paying €4. Tickets are available at www.auditoriodetenerife.com, from the box office (Monday to Friday, 10.00 am–5.00 pm; Saturdays, 10.00 am–2.00 pm), or by telephone on 902 317 327 during box-office opening hours.
Born in Barcelona, Ramón Gener holds degrees in Humanities and Business Studies. He began his musical training at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu at the age of six. He gives talks and presentations on opera, classical music and art, and has appeared on radio and television programmes in Spain and internationally.
Gener is also the author of four books: Si Beethoven pudiera escucharme (2013), El amor te hará inmortal (2016), Beethoven, un músico sobre un mar de nubes (2020) and Historia de un piano (2024).
