On Friday, Ana Ayala Sextet takes centre stage, followed by Revirado Project and Filippo Dall’Asta on Saturday

The Auditorio de Tenerife welcomes the Canarias Jazz Showroom concerts this weekend. Friday’s concert (October 10) will start at 7.30 p.m. in the Chamber Hall. On Saturday (October 11) the concert will again start at the same time and venue, with an additional live performance in the foyer following the main event.

The Ana Ayala Sextet, led by singer and flautist Ana Ayala, includes Itziar Mendivil on saxophone, Oz Granados on double bass, Guillaume Coulbois on piano, Claudia Bosch on clarinet, and Daniel Pimienta on drums. After years of working as a side performer in various jazz projects, Ayala is debuting with this sextet, which represents her journey as a leader and composer. Likewise, it shows a deep personal undertaking of significant aesthetic and emotional commitment.

With an unconventional lineup, the group explores a language of its own that blends contemporary jazz with elements of classical music, free jazz, and pop, bringing life to original compositions inspired by characters who have faced the limits of existence.

On Saturday, the stage will feature Enrique Thompson, a dynamic Argentine saxophonist based in the Canary Islands and Vienna, leading the Revirado Project. Thompson fuses the excitement of jazz improvisation with the Argentine tango, redefining tango-jazz fusion with modern harmonies, virtuosic solos, and rhythmic intensity. The group is recognized for its energetic performances and the seamless blending of thrilling tango rhythms with the improvisational freedom of jazz.

Following the concert, around 9 p.m., Filippo Dall’Asta will lead The Hot Club of Tenerife in a live performance in the auditorium’s hall. This band consists of drums, double bass, two guitars, and saxophone. Dall’Asta, a guitarist, composer, bandleader, and arranger from Italy, launched his latest album, The Hot Club of Tenerife, during his years in the region. The album merges Manouche jazz with bebop and classical influences to create a distinct guitar style. Dall’Asta has toured extensively in Germany, India, Italy, France, Spain, England, Malta, and Russia, with notable performances at the Royal Albert Hall, the Glastonbury Festival, the UK Parliament, the Tower of London, Union Chapel, and numerous other festivals.

The tickets can be purchased at a single price of €15 and €5 for audiences under 30 on the website www.auditoriodetenerife.com, at the auditorium’s box office, or by dialling the phone number 902 317 327 from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check the special discounts for students, unemployed people and large families, among others.
