The educational events, which took place during the season, were hosted in 15 municipalities across the island
The Auditorio de Tenerife concluded its series of educational talks on various aspects of opera in April this year. As part of the Ópera de Tenerife season, this initiative brought together more than 500 participants at events with diverse groups across 15 municipalities on the island.
The Minister of Culture of the Island Council of Tenerife, José Carlos Acha, emphasised that ‘Ópera en Ruta aims to allow the public to explore different aspects of the world of opera, each one connected to the titles featured during the season at the Auditorio de Tenerife. According to Acha, ‘the objective is to reach new audiences and offer a fresh perspective on the operatic world,’ noting that ‘many people who have attended these talks have subsequently gone on to see the performances’.
Ópera en Ruta has reached audiences this season in the municipalities of Adeje, Buenavista, Candelaria, El Rosario, Garachico, Granadilla, Guía de Isora, Güímar, La Orotava, Los Realejos, Puerto de la Cruz, San Juan de la Rambla, Santa Cruz, Santa Úrsula, and Vilaflor.
Iván Morales led the talks, using them to examine the structure of each opera and its principal arias and illuminate the socio-historical context in which each work was composed. He has further enriched the sessions by sharing anecdotes from various productions and discussing broader themes within the operatic genre.
