Synopsis
Brahms wrote A German Requiem not from ritual but from the human experience of loss. It is not a work centred on the dead, but on those who remain: their grief, their need for consolation, and their hope of finding meaning in the face of what cannot be changed.
Within the Freedom or Fate season, this work occupies a singular place. Faced with the inevitability of death, Brahms responds not with drama but with music of spacious breadth, choral warmth and profound humanity. Here, freedom takes the form of acceptance: not the denial of suffering, but the courage to pass through it.
Víctor Pablo Pérez, Honorary Conductor of the Sinfónica de Tenerife, conducts this masterpiece with soprano Serena Sáenz, baritone José Antonio López, and the Main Choir Ópera de Tenerife–Intermezzo. The Auditorio de Tenerife becomes the setting for a profound musical meditation on life, death and consolation.

Pre-concert talk
The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra will offer a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m. in the Sala Avenida (in the auditorium lobby) by Lourdes Bonnet, from the Tenerife Association of Friends of Music (ATADEM). Admission is free until capacity is reached.
Tickets
Access to the hall is not permitted once the doors are closed for the event to begin.
Access is only allowed to those over five years of age.
