Artistic direction and dramaturgy: Marianella Morena

Musician and testimonial coordinator Khaly Thionue

The migratory route from Africa to the Canary Islands forces us to deal with the concept of human migration, in the present and in our memory.
I descend from Canarian migrants who travelled in the cargo hold of a ship and disembarked in Montevideo. From there, I shall discover the stories of those who crossed the ocean on a piece of wood in search of other stars in the same sky.
This project consists of dialogues woven from testimonies and fictional accounts in a universe that is broader poetically, musically and socially.
While a family plays Battleship, a group of migrants passes unnoticed next to them. The home fluctuates between the representation and a documentary format under the same beacon of hope.
