Pablo González‘s first concert as principal guest conductor marks the beginning of a new period brimming with energy and artistic ambition. Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 (often referred to as Titan) is among the most visionary symphonic works ever created. The young Mahler constructed this symphony as a sonorous universe where nature, lost innocence, and tragic grandeur are intertwined in a highly unusual and profoundly human composition.
Before this, Juan Floristán adds his sensitivity and technical brilliance to Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, which is one of Rachmaninoff’s most seductive and scintillating pieces. It is an evening to enjoy an outstanding example of creative drive, in which each note opens the door to a new world.
It’s an evening to see first-hand how music is transformed into discovery.
