The European Premiere of ˋYermaˊ also marked the close of subscriptions for this loyalty programme
Ópera de Tenerife has closed subscriptions for the 2025-2026 season with 1,301 members signed up to the loyalty programme, Club Ópera. This number marks a more than 7 per cent increase from the prior season, breaking previous records. It reflects the commitment and backing of opera lovers for the Auditorio de Tenerife’s cultural offerings.
Remarkably, 200 of these subscribers are young people aged below 30. Members of the Club will enjoy six subscription titles throughout the season along with numerous benefits, including additional discounts, access to exclusive events, and personalised customer service. The titles offered this season are: Yerma (October); The Flying Dutchman (November); Adiós a la bohemia (December); Orfeo ed Euridice (January); Roméo et Juliette (March) and La verbena de la paloma (June).
The season opened with Yerma, whose four performances last week featured the successful European debut of the opera composed by Heitor Villa-Lobos and based on Federico García Lorca’s play. Opera lovers can look forward to The Flying Dutchman by Richard Wagner on 16, 19, and 22 November, a production presented by the Municipal Theatre of Santiago, the National Opera of Chile.
Subscriptions have now closed, but tickets for single performances of the operatic repertoire at the Auditorio can still be acquired at www.operadetenerife.com, at the auditorium’s box office, or by calling the phone number 902 317 327, from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check the special discounts for, among others the audience under 30 years of age, students, unemployed people, and large families.
