The internationally acclaimed fado singer, nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards, will present her latest album at the Auditorio de Tenerife this Saturday (24 October).

The Auditorio de Tenerife will welcome Carminho to its Symphony Hall this Saturday (24 October) at 7.30 pm. Widely regarded as one of the leading voices in contemporary fado and one of Portugal’s most internationally recognised artists, Carminho will present her seventh album, Eu Vou Morrer de Amor ou Resistir. The singer has received two nominations for the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards: Best Portuguese Language Song for Memória, featuring Rosalía, and Best Portuguese Language Roots Music Album.

Her latest album reaffirms her commitment to exploring and expanding the expressive possibilities of fado. Drawing inspiration from the human voice, femininity and the genre’s versatility, Carminho incorporates elements of experimental music into the traditional language of fado. The album features 11 tracks, eight of which were composed by the singer herself.

Born Maria do Carmo de Carvalho Rebelo de Andrade in Lisbon in 1984, Carminho made her recording debut with Fado, which achieved platinum status in Portugal and was named Best Album of 2011 by the British world music magazine Songlines. Her sixth album, Portuguesa, was released in March 2023.

Carminho’s artistic versatility has led her to collaborate with some of the most prominent figures in international music. Among her recent projects is her appearance on Rosalía’s album Lux, on which the two artists perform the Latin Grammy-nominated duet Memória. She has also worked with Caetano Veloso, Steve Albini, Pablo Alborán and Laurie Anderson, among others.
