Following two outstanding seasons in Madrid, The Phantom of the Opera is embarking on a two-year national tour. We return with even greater excitement, encouraged by the extraordinary reception our production has received from audiences. At Letsgo, we are proud to breathe fresh new life into Broadway’s longest-running and most iconic musical, presenting a production created both for a new generation of Phantom fans and for those who have cherished this masterpiece for decades.

As President of Letsgo, I am immensely proud to have collaborated with the great Andrew Lloyd Webber. This extraordinary opportunity came about through our friendship with Antonio Banderas and his collaboration with the maestro through Amigos para Siempre.

This remarkable journey began with the vision of our director, Federico Bellone, whose dream was to create a new production of The Phantom of the Opera capable of touring the world. The project first took shape in Italy before finding its home in Spain. As a result, this production was conceived as a “twin”, with its sister production premiering to great acclaim in Trieste last summer.

Every aspect of this production reflects the passion, dedication and expertise of an exceptional team of Spanish and international artists and technicians. From Julio Awad’s magnificent musical direction and Gillian Bruce’s choreography, to Valerio Tiberi’s atmospheric lighting design, Roc Mateu’s innovative sound design, employing the latest technologies, Charia Donato’s exquisite costumes, Silvia Montesinos’s outstanding adaptation, and Federico Bellone’s imaginative set design, created in collaboration with Clara Abbruzzesse, every department has contributed to a production of the very highest artistic standard.

The commitment of our cast has been equally inspiring. The first time I heard Gerónimo Rauch, Talía del Val and Guido Balzaretti perform, I was completely captivated. I knew immediately that they were the perfect trio to bring this extraordinary and impossible love triangle to life.

It is immensely rewarding to see this new production enjoying such success, and to know that it will be remembered as another landmark in the extraordinary legacy of The Phantom of the Opera. More than 150 million people in 35 countries have already fallen under its spell, and it is easy to understand why: from the moment the curtain rises, it is impossible to look away until the final note.

I hope this timeless story of love and darkness captivates you as deeply as it captivated me.

Respect. That has been the guiding principle behind this new production of The Phantom of the Opera. It was the first musical I ever saw on Broadway, at the age of twenty-one, and the experience inspired me to pursue this extraordinary profession. Harold Prince’s direction and Maria Björnson’s iconic designs are true works of art, and our only ambition has been to honour their legacy through a production that completely reimagines Webber’s masterpiece.

Our starting point was the Phantom’s deepest desire: to be accepted despite the disfigurement with which he was born. From that idea emerged the visual language of the production—a vast shattered mirror as a backdrop that frames the proscenium of the Paris Opera House and, in constant motion, transports the audience through every corner of this mysterious, enchanted world and beyond.

Set in 2023, this new production reimagines the characters with an emphasis on emotional truth and psychological authenticity. Through a series of bold artistic choices, we hope to bring renewed vitality and contemporary energy to one of the world’s most iconic musicals.

I never wanted to work on a musical that was originally crafted to perfection. Yet, with the encouragement and trust of Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber—two true legends whom I deeply admire—I’ve done just that. It has become one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career.
