Seré
Synopsis
La Salita presents Seré, written and directed by Lautaro Delgado Tymruk and Sofía Brito. Thursday’s performance will be followed by a discussion with the audience.
A voice takes possession of the actor. Seré is a survival guide, a manual for escape. Drawing on Guillermo Fernández’s testimony at the ‘Trial of the Juntas’ about his abduction and escape from the clandestine detention centre known as ‘Mansión Seré’, an actor puts his body at the service of that testimony.
The play poetically and aesthetically reworks Fernández’s account through other texts, noises and sounds. Seré explores the voice and the embodiment of the spoken word through reverse ventriloquism: the actor reproduces the witness’s voice, giving rise to a reflection on memory, survival and the possibility of a future.
