Auditorio de Tenerife has placed itself at the same level as other national theatres. It has managed to go beyond Spanish borders through Opera de Tenerife, leading international opera productions of the highest level. This was possible in collaboration with other European and Latin-American cultural centres. The team of Opera de Tenerife works on this daily challenge to prepare every year larger projects and offer greater excellence, through its seasons, combining classic titles and contemporary proposals.

Ópera de Tenerife’s season includes several of its own projects, linked to its commitment to the dissemination of opera and culture in Tenerife society. In this way, the aim is for a work to be an unforgettable experience open to people of all ages, where literature, music, painting, the performing arts and human values transcend the stage of the Auditorio de Tenerife. Performances for the whole family, complementary activities and actions for the creation of audiences complete each year’s proposal.

Ópera de Tenerife is an initiative of the Cabildo de Tenerife (the goverment of the island) -through Auditorio de Tenerife-, sponsored by the Instituto Canario de Desarrollo Cultural of the Government of Canary Islands and the Instituto Nacional de Artes Escénicas y Música INAEM of the Government of Spain. Ópera de Tenerife is a member of the following professional networks: Ópera Europa, Ópera Latinoamericana (OLA), the European Network on Educational Formats in Opera RESEO y the spanish opera network Siglo XXI.

2026-2027 Season

Auditorio de Tenerife presents the 2026–2027 opera season under the theme “The World Seems Vast and Silent.” Ópera de Tenerife will offer twelve productions: eight during the regular season and four during the preseason as part of the third edition of Ópera en minúscula, ensuring a continuous opera program from September 2026 through June 2027. The Symphony Hall is the main venue for the program, which also takes place at Espacio La Granja and the Teatro Leal.

Ópera de Tenerife presents a new, ambitious season full of challenges, striving for the quality and excellence to which the public has become accustomed. From Mozart’s Classical period to Javier Carmena’s newly created zarzuela, the season offers a rich repertoire through in-house productions and collaborations with major theaters.

The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra will be a key partner in the programming for six of these productions, five of which feature the Ópera de Tenerife-Intermezzo Resident Choir and three of which feature a dance troupe from the Tenerife International Dance Center. One of the new features of the season is the performance schedule, which has been moved up by half an hour to begin at 7:00 p.m., except on Sundays, when performances will start at 6:00 p.m.

As for the theme “The world seems vast and silent”—inspired by the current international situation—this season invites the audience to embrace the silence: to recognize their own doubts, fears, and desires in the stories of these characters. While discourse outside grows more polarized and borders harden, the opera house becomes a place where inner emotion can, at last, be spoken aloud. Because only when we dare to listen to it, perhaps, will the world finally begin to respond.

Lanzadera Cultural

The Tenerife Island Council has introduced the free shuttle service ‘Lanzadera Cultural’, providing complimentary transport for those attending the subscription performances of Ópera de Tenerife.

This collaborative effort involves two buses of TITSA that, on show days, leave from the south and north, heading to the Auditorio de Tenerife. Once the event is finished, there will be a 15-minute gap until the buses drive the route in the opposite direction.

To access this service, you must collect a bus ticket, purchased as a show. Instead of choosing a ticket option, select the name of the stop where you will join the journey. Whether you have a ticket for the show or have yet to buy one, you must collect this invitation to board the shuttle. Places on the shuttle service are limited and will be available until the day before the show at noon for the opera events, and until 11 p.m. for the symphony concerts.

Select the day of the performance and choose your stop to get your ticket at this link.

The following routes and estimated times of departure are offered:

Northern route: Departure from Buenavista at 5:15 p.m., with stops in Los Silos, Garachico, Icod de Los Vinos, San Juan de la Rambla, Los Realejos, La Orotava, Santa Úrsula, La Victoria, La Matanza and Tacoronte.
